Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 23, 2026

RemoteMic is an Android app that lets you stream microphone audio over your local network (LAN/WLAN) to a browser, or route audio to a paired Bluetooth device. This policy explains what data is processed, how it is used, and your choices.

1. Summary

2. Information We Process

Data stored on your device: stream settings (port, optional web password), audio settings (gain, source, processing mode), onboarding/preference flags, and purchase entitlement state. Used only to operate features and restore your preferences.

Audio data: when you start capture, microphone audio is processed for live playback/streaming to devices you connect to on your local network or to selected local outputs (for example Bluetooth). We do not upload microphone audio to our own servers as part of core app operation.

Local network data: RemoteMic runs a local web endpoint so other devices on the same LAN/WLAN can connect. Connected clients can receive stream data and adjust playback settings, but microphone capture must be started on the phone. If you set a web password, access requires authentication.

3. Permissions Used

4. In-App Purchases

RemoteMic offers optional paid Pro features via Google Play Billing. Payment processing is handled by Google; we do not receive your full payment card details. Purchase tokens/entitlement state are stored to unlock purchased features.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell personal data. We share data only with service providers needed to run platform functionality, such as Google Play Billing (for purchases), Firebase services (if enabled in the build, described below), and Google Analytics for public website measurement.

6. Data Deletion

RemoteMic does not collect or store your personal data on our own servers. All app data is stored locally on your device. To remove it, clear the app's storage/data from Android settings, or delete/uninstall the app.

7. Firebase Crash Diagnostics and Analytics (if enabled)

Some builds may enable Firebase. When enabled, Firebase Crashlytics and Analytics may process limited technical data such as crash stack traces, device model, OS version, app version, and basic interaction events used for product quality. We do not intentionally send microphone audio content, stream passwords, or payment card data to Firebase. See Firebase privacy and Google privacy.

8. Website Analytics

The public RemoteMic website may use Google Analytics to measure page visits, referrers, approximate geography, browser/device information, and interactions with the site. This helps us understand whether the website and guides are useful. Website analytics do not include microphone audio, stream passwords, payment card data, or local LAN stream content. See Google privacy.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical measures to reduce unauthorized access. No system is perfectly secure, especially on shared local networks, so use the optional web password when sharing on LAN/WLAN, and avoid streaming on untrusted networks.

10. Children's Privacy

RemoteMic is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will be published with an updated effective date.
