Privacy Policy

Effective date: April 7, 2026

WebCam is a local-network streaming app for Android. It lets you stream your phone camera on the same Wi-Fi or LAN using either a browser-based MJPEG stream or an RTSP stream for compatible clients such as VLC or OBS. Its core features work without an account or sign-in. This policy explains what data is processed, how it is used, and your choices.

1. Summary

2. Information We Process

Camera and microphone: camera video is captured for live streaming and snapshots. In RTSP (Streaming-apps) mode, WebCam can also use the device microphone to include optional live audio in the stream. This media is shared on your local network for viewing and is not uploaded to developer-operated servers.

App settings stored on your device: stream mode, selected camera, resolution, frame rate, JPEG quality, RTSP bitrate, RTSP port, rotation, mirror, onboarding state, and an optional password for protecting the local web stream and RTSP access.

Connection details: when a viewer connects to the local stream, the app may temporarily process basic connection details such as local IP address, client type or user agent, requested path, and connection time, so it can show connected clients inside the app.

3. Permissions Used

4. In-App Purchases

WebCam offers a Pro upgrade that removes the free tier's per-session and daily streaming limits. Pro is available as a subscription or a one-time permanent unlock. Purchases and entitlement are handled by Google Play Billing; WebCam stores only your entitlement state locally.

5. Data Sharing

WebCam does not sell your personal data. Stream content is intended for local-network viewing and is not uploaded to developer-operated servers. WebCam does not create a developer-hosted user profile for you and does not require sign-in to use local streaming.

6. Firebase (Production Builds)

Production releases may use Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics if the developer enables Firebase for the release build. If enabled, Firebase may receive crash diagnostics, app version information, and usage analytics. Firebase is provided by Google and is subject to Google's own terms and privacy practices.

7. Children

WebCam is a general-purpose utility and is not directed to children. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Changes

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above.
